Florine Imo is a figurative painter, sculptor, and poetry writer currently living and working between Vienna and London. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2023. Imo’s work delves into the complexities of contemporary female characters, challenging societal norms and perceptions through her reinterpretation of angels. Exploring themes of imperfections, mistakes, vulnerability, love, sacrifice, healing and struggle, Imo invites viewers to question traditional notions of righteousness – her distinctive visual language enhancing the emotional depth of her storytelling. Highlights of recent exhibitions include: ‘Trenza,’ Steve Turner, Los Angeles (Solo); ‘As light as a Feather,’ LBF Contemporary, London (Solo)’; ‘Judgement Day’, Steven Turner, Los Angeles, USA (Solo); ‘Female Recollection’, ALBA Gallery, with Maria Lassing, Vienna, Austria London (Group); ‘7Sin5’, Hew Hood Gallery, London, UK (Solo). Imo will participate in the upcoming shows ‘Substance’ at Kunstlerhaus in the Albertina Modern in Vienna later this year.
